If you’ve ever needed to share large files, chances are you’ve used WeTransfer. When WeTransfer set out to reinvent file sharing on mobile, I stepped in as one of two freelance product designers on a small, cross-functional team. Together with a product manager, engineering manager, 6 iOS & Android engineers (plus of course a QA), we crafted a seamless, visually engaging experience for sharing big files on the go.

I shaped key features across both iOS and Android platforms and helped build out the mobile design system that keeps the experience consistent and intuitive.

I spent a year with the Bloomreach design team on building and implementing a design system from the ground up. We called it Banana - I promise we did more than just making everything yellow 🍌: From crafting individual components and patterns to documenting them and working closely with frontend developers on implementation, I made sure everything was designed for both usability and scalability. I also defined accessibility guidelines and design principles, ensuring a seamless experience across the platform. The result is a unified ecosystem that empowers designers and developers alike. We love bananas! Do you?

So, what are the main user flows?

The mobile app lets users view received files and share files on the go. It focuses on visual file sharing, enabling recipients to view their files in a more intuitive, visual way. Users can reshare, forward, or save files for later access.
